Recognising long service
Every autumn we gather all those employees who have served the company for more than 20 years together in a celebration of their long service. This year is no exception.
Yesterday (24 September) 170 long service recipients travelled to London to have their service recognised, the majority were celebrating 20 years but there was also a number celebrating 30 and even 40 years’ service.
They began their day with a sumptuous lunch on Bateaux London’s restaurant cruise vessel, Symphony. Lunch was enjoyed whilst taking in London’s famous sights such as the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge from the Thames.
Then the fun really started, everyone was invited to a dinner at Madame Tussauds where they were greeted by and personally introduced to Debbie White, regional chair for Sodexo UK and Ireland. There was food, music and lots of dancing.
But why do we do this every year? Our people are our greatest asset, they are the ones every day delivering services for our clients, they are the face of Sodexo, they are the ones our customers see and interact with on a daily basis. Without them we would not have the successful business we have today.
Reward and recognition is a top priority for us – we have lots of initiatives, awards and schemes aimed at showing our employees that we care about them and that we appreciate their loyalty, commitment and hard work. This is just one. In May, our Service Excellence Awards held at Ascot Racecourse recognises the very best of our customer-facing employees. In November our annual Star Awards takes place in London where true heroes and stars of our business get a chance to shine in front of an audience of over 500 of their colleagues.
Congratulations to all of our long service recipients.
