Hospitals have hit the headlines recently with criticism of the food on offer for patients, visitors and staff. Headlines such as ‘Scandal of junk food available in NHS hospitals’ earlier this year, questioned the availability of unhealthy food in hospitals at a time when obesity is placing an ever bigger burden on NHS budgets.
