I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Simon Hulston the chef proprietor of “The Elephant” a Michelin starred restaurant in Torquay for a week and all I can say is I loved it. Listening to Simon talk about his food and competitions he has entered throughout the week was a great learning experience for me. His passion and knowledge for his local area in Torquay sees him sourcing the very best products from Devon to serve to his customers.

Headlines such as ‘Scandal of junk food available in NHS hospitals’ earlier this year, questioned the availability of unhealthy food in hospitals at a time when obesity is placing an ever bigger burden on NHS budgets.
So then, Think FM- The Competitive Edge, sounds to me a little like a game show where FM managers are pitched into a ring to fight it out. The last survivor, emerging victorious with a golden TFM contract clutched in their bloodied hand whilst the panel from Dragons Den look on stony-faced. Well that’s how I had pictured it.
Some of Sodexo’s most dedicated employees gathered at Ascot Racecourse on Wednesday for the annual Service Excellence Awards. This has turned into one of the best events in the Sodexo calendar.
