My issue with the term ‘Straight Allies’

As we were getting ready for our first company participation with Pride in London, it made me think about my involvement and role in the Pride Network.

As an ally, this festival isn’t about me. I don’t have the experience of growing up in a world where the image of romantic love portrayed in all media isn’t something that fits with me. I’ve never felt uncomfortable, let alone fearful, about showing the person I love affection in public. I’ve never felt I had to be deliberately ambiguous

Closing the disability gap

In the UK 16% of working age adults report having a disability. While 80.6% of people without disabilities are employed, the figure for those with disabilities is only 49.2%. Recognising this “disability gap” the Government has set a target for more than one million more disabled people to be in work by 2027.
