Last week I volunteered to be a steward at the Out and Equal Equality Institute Event, sponsored by Walt Disney and Sodexo at the National Gallery. It was unlike any conference I had ever been to: Where some of the most senior leaders of two very big corporations stood up to discuss LGBT equality within their organisations. Something that I can’t imagine would have ever happened as little as five years ago.

Mike Dyer started his career with Sodexo more than 20 years ago as business operations director in Sodexo Healthcare. Since 2015 he has taken on a new role that has allowed him to reduce his hours to three days per week, providing him with an opportunity to pursue interests outside of work as he ultimately prepares for retirement.
