Last week saw the FutureChef final at Westminster Kingsway College, an amazing day of aspiring young talent competing for the FutureChef 2016 title. Sodexo is a long term sponsor of FutureChef, and as such supports the most prolific young person’s programme encouraging young people into the Hospitality and Catering industry.
It has been a fantastic few weeks for our finance community within Sodexo UK & Ireland. Two of our employees have been accepted on to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Leaders of Tomorrow programme.

The BESA (Building & Engineering Services Association) recently awarded Sodexo in the areas of technical services and training (winner and attendee listing below). In addition to the BESA awards, Adam McHaffie (apprentice at Wythenshawe Hospital) won an award for Electrician of the Year, awarded by BATJIC (British and Trades Joint Industrial Council). He will collect his award the on 18th March.

The journey to work on the first day of my internship with Sodexo was, for me, an extremely nervous one. Unable to concentrate on anything else, I just counted the stops all the way along the central line. As I entered the London head office I was unnerved and a little bit intimidated by this new environment. I noticed how busy everyone was but even though everyone was so busy and focused on their work, they all made time to smile, introduce themselves and make sure I had everything I needed. This reassurance was exactly what I needed. Now that I reflect back on that day I realise how much easier my first day was made by the friendliness and welcoming nature of the team.
