In this blog, Zoe Donnelly, Resourcing Partner, interviews Davina Healey, Resourcing Coordinator, about her role within the UK & Ireland Resourcing Team.
What do you enjoy most about working for Sodexo?
My colleagues, I have made some great friends since starting at Sodexo. Also, how flexible the role is. My work/life balance has improved since I started in my new role.
What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment for Sodexo?
Every day is different. As a resourcing coordinator, the role allows me to interact with a wide range of candidates and managers within Sodexo. This allows me to widen my network within the business.
If you could have a different job, any job, what would it be?
I would like to eventually become a Social Worker. I am going back to University to complete my Master’s Degree. I will be doing this part time, alongside my current role, which is another reason why the flexibility and work life balance is useful to me.
What are the challenges of working in recruitment?
The role can be, at times, extremely demanding due to the high volume of work that we manage. However, I thrive in this environment with the help of my supportive team.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Working on the Resourcing Team, we are the first point of contact for candidates where we try to ensure their first experience and impression of Sodexo is a positive one. We work closely with the Resourcing Partners, and hiring managers to support the end-to-end recruitment process. This can involve; advertising roles, arranging interviews, preparing offers, shortlisting CV’s and assisting with general resourcing queries from hiring managers and the wider business.
I enjoy the variety that the role brings, and the opportunities I have to gain knowledge from the Resourcing Partners.
What skills do you think someone needs to do your job?
People and communication skills, a genuine interest in others and the ability to organise your time effectively.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
At the moment, most of my spare time is spent planning my upcoming wedding. With only a few months to go, there is plenty to keep me busy. I am getting married abroad which involves endless hours of planning and organisation.
