5 minutes with…..Jameel Skeet-Pierre, Match day Chef – Everton FC

In this blog series, we grab 5 minutes with some of our Chefs in Sports & Leisure to learn more about their role in Sodexo and why they love being a Sodexo Chef

Here we meet Jameel Skeet-Pierre (24) who came through the KickStart programme at aged 17….

 What attracted you into the industry and when did you know you wanted to become a Chef? When I was younger, watching my mum cook for the family.

Describe your role with Sodexo? Im a Prep Chef for match days, coupled with sorting out match day deliveries. I also prepare and cook all the Conference & Banqueting menus.

 What are the biggest challenges in your role? Preparing and cooking for the match and Conferences at the same time.

 What has been the highlight of your time with Sodexo? Working at the 2012 Olympics with all the team.

 What do you enjoy most about working in Sodexo Sports and Leisure? I like the opportunities that you can get. I regularly work at events such as the Golf Open and Royal Ascot during summer which gives me valuable experience. I like using the reward hub that enables me to get discount on so many things like holidays, shopping etc.

What would you say to someone considering a career at Sodexo? It is a great company to work for. You get lots of opportunities to make you a better chef and become part of great team.

What are your career goals for the future? I want to own my own Street Food company. With Sodexo I am getting the knowledge to enable to hopefully set this up soon.
